A Gylfi Thor Sigurdsson double helped Swansea AFC to a 3-0 win at Fulham FC on a day that was overshadowed by the abandonment of the FA Cup quarter-final between Tottenham Hotspur FC and Bolton Wanderers FC after the collapse of visiting midfielder Fabrice Muamba.
Swansea are up to eighth place in the Premier League as goals in either half from Sigurdsson and a Joe Allen strike (77) secured a fourth away win in six for Brendan Rodgers' charges. Wigan Athletic FC passed up the chance to move out of the bottom three as former Latics player Paul Scharner (65) cancelled out James McArthur's opening goal to earn West Bromwich Albion FC a 1-1 draw.
In the FA Cup quarter-finals, Everton FC and Sunderland AFC drew 1-1 at Goodison Park, Tim Cahill (23) heading the hosts level after Phil Bardsley had opened the scoring with a 12th-minute free-kick. The day's other last-eight match at Tottenham was abandoned four minutes before half-time with the score 1-1 after Bolton's Muamba collapsed on the pitch. A Gareth Bale own goal and Kyle Dawson's equaliser had made for an engaging tie before the match was stopped when the 23-year-old former England international fell unconscious.
